Color Hues #83

Welcome back! We have a new colour duo starting today at the Color Hues for Color Challenge #83! This week we have a unique colour combination chosen by teammate Carol. I love this subdued pallet of cream and blue! I decided to make a birthday card that is masculine and yet it ended up very generic!

I used A Colourful Life's Rippling Squares to stencil on a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" panel of cream cardstock using Catherine Pooler Ink--Tranquil. Be careful this pattern is a bit funky, but so very fun!

I trimmed the panel down to 5 1/4" x 4" and adhered it directly to a cream coloured cardbase. I decided to make this card one layer to make for easy mailing.

I made my own cardstock with Catherine Pooler Ink--Cove Blue. I simply pounced the ink pad over white cardstock panel and let it dry completely. The panel looks blotchy at first but with these inks it settles out as it dries! Now I have coordinating colour cardstock for my background.

Once dry, the sentiment Simon Says Stamp's Happy Birthday was cut from the cardstock.

If you haven't already been there, please head over to the Color Hues blog to see the fabulous designs my teammates have made for this challenge!

Just Us Girls #718

Hey crafty friends! I'm back again with m second card for my March Guest Design at Just Us Girls! This challenge with are having a Collaboration Challenge with Time Out Challenges for challenge #718.

We are doing a two week challenge running from March 14th - 27th. At JUGS it's a word challenge and the word is Birds! I don't have many birds in my collection but I have MFT Stamps Seaside Seagulls and pulled it out to play!

I created a cloud background with the MFT Stamps Clouds stencil, then I cut it into a panel with the MFT Stamps Wonky Stitched borders.

I used a bright blue cardstock for my background and I have gone through all my cardstock and still do not know what company makes it.

I added some foam tape/dots to add some dimension behind the white panel and behind the bird and die cut clouds!

This is the now, sadly retired, stamp set I used, MFT Stamps' Seaside Seagulls!

All the images were coloured with Copic markers.

I hope to see you play along with us!

Just Us Girls #717

Hi there crafty friends! Today I'm so excited to share that I am the guest designer for Just Us Girls for the month of March!

The first challenge is for Color Week #717 and the colours are green, lime green and one other colour! I chose a coral pink for my other colour!

I used all Catherine Pooler products for my card. With St. Patrick's Day just around the corner I decided to make a card for the occasion. I used the Clover & Blooms stamps and dies and the Lucky Charm stamp sets along with the Lucky word die. I stamped the clovers in Grass Skirt and Lime Rickey inks and I made my own cardstock using Coral Cabana ink for the word lucky.

All were assembled on a panel cut with the Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Rectangle dies. The clovers were attached with foam tape for a bit of dimension.

This card would be suitable to give to a friend or someone you love.

I hope to see you play along at the Just Us Girls challenge this week. I can't wait to see what you do!

Color Hues #82

Hi there crafty friends! We have a new colour duo starting today at the Color Hues for Color Challenge #82! I'm so excited to be the host of this challenge and I chose these bright and cheerful colours as we transition into March and spring only a few short weeks away! Where I live we don't have a typical spring, in fact most years we don't really have much of a spring at all. It's not uncommon to have one last snowfall in April! This year I'm optimistic because Wiarton Willie, Ontario's resident groundhog, saw his shadow on Groundhog Day, signalling 6 more weeks of winter and I'm holding him to it!

I used a very old Papertrey Ink set that might actually be my favourite, it's called Flower Garden. What I love the most about this set is that there is so much creative freedom. The flowers, vines and leaves can be arranged however you want and they always end up looking like the grew that way!

I stamped a variety of the solid stamps and then stamped the outline offset over the images.

Everything was stamped with Catherine Pooler inks--Cummerbund and Lime Rickey. I made a matching envelope for the card using the same method.

I was on a roll and ended up making a second card and envelope duo!

I don't think I'll be putting this set too far away. Sometimes something you have had for a long time and you bring it out to play, you remember why you bought it in the first place!

If you head over to the Color Hues blog you will see what the rest of the team has made with these colours. As always their creations are all amazing!

I can't wait to see what you do with these colours!

February 2024| Lunar New Year Challenge

I have a card for the February Lunar New Year Challenge!

Red and Yellow are the main colours for the Lunar New Year so I used red and yellow cardstock to create my card. The letters are from Lawn Fawn Henry's ABC's alphabet dies. The background is the Radial Pinpoint cover plate from Birch Press Designs.

Color Hues #81

We have a new colour duo starting today at the Color Hues for Color Challenge #81! Teammate Stef Perry chose our pallete of Lilac & Mint!

I used the Kind Regards stamps and co-ordinating stencil by LRDS Creative for my clean & simple thank you card! I love a beautiful flower that you can easily add colour to!

I used Concord & 9th and Catherine Pooler inks for my stenciling. The stencils were so easy to line up! Of the multiple sentiments on the stamp I chose thank you, you can never have enough on hand!

Using a 0.1 Copic Multiliner I went over the centres of each flower to brighten them up after I stenciled.

The panel was cut down to 5 x 3 3/4" and matted with lilac cardstock and then I added a few lilac pearls from Studio Katia for a bit of shine.

If you head over to the Color Hues blog you will see what the rest of the team has made with these colours. As always their creations are all amazing!

I can't wait to see what you do with these colours!

Color Hues # 80

We have a new colour duo starting today at the Color Hues for Color Challenge #80! Did you notice our new graphics? We have updated graphics and watermarks for he team. Head over to the Color Hues blog to see all the new graphics that Nancy's son, Ty help her create!

Teammate Sheri picked this new colour duo of Red & Pink perfect for valentines! I thoughts it was the perfect time to use The Greetery's Falling Hearts Background die and ended up creating three inlaid cards using red, pink & neutral white.

'

I made three passes--one with white, one with pink and one with red. I put all the hearts from each colour into separate dishes and then applied adhesive to the front of the card base. I poked out all the hearts but hung on to everything that fell out. I left the dots in the die cut and inlay the dots where they had come out. I followed a system for each row starting with red then pink.

Doesn't it look fantastic when all the hearts are inlaid back into the die?

I cut a coordinating heart from the Lawn Fawn Outside In Stiched Hearts dies for my white embossed sentiment. All sentiments are from The Greetery Hot Stuff stamp set.

I repeated the same process to create two more inlaid cards with red and pink pieces.

With one background die I was able to create three cards!

Please head over to the Color Hues blog you will see what the rest of the team has made with these colours. As always my teammates created fabulous cards!

I am also submitting this to the newest Just Us Girls challenge for Color Week!

...and also to the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge!
