Altenew Crafty Friends Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hi crafty friends! I am so excited to be joining Altenew for the Crafty Friends Blog Hop! You should have arrived here from the My Sweet Petunia blog.

The idea behind the crafty friends blog hop us to celebrate the incredible friendships we have made all over the world as a crafting community.

I have been so fortunate to have made many friendships through the mutual love of paper crafting. Some of these friendships have been via snail mail, emails, phone calls, video calls and several that I have been so fortunate to meet in real life and many that I hope to meet one day. As I write this post I have just gotten back from a crafty retreat with 17 amazing ladies. This is the third time that I have been at retreat with them now! Each of them so lovely, incredibly talented and people who I am able to call my friends!

Today I have used Altenew's Indoor Garden for my card. Love how easy it is to build a succulent garden. I did a bit of masking and all the colours were added using Altenew inks and the coordinating stamps.  They line up so easily and using my MISTI I was able to get amazing vibrant coverage. I finished the card off with a sentiment from the super fun new Altenew Crafty Friends stamp set. This one is loaded with sentiments that are perfect for sending cards and paper crafting projects to all your crafty friends.

I have some pictures of the friends I have been so fortunate to meet. Starting off with Toronto friends...

Muse #237

It's Monday and time for another new challenge at Muse!

For Muse this week I inked up the Altenew Sketchy Floral Stamp. When I first looked at the stamp and saw how large it was I was a bit intimidated. However, the large scale floral image is actually quite unique in that you can do so many things with it. You can make cards just by positioning the stamp in different locations on your card front and  it would be brilliant to stamp right on to your scrapbooking projects. For today's Muse I was clear embossed a partial flower image on to Bristol cardstock. Then I coloured only part of the image with ZIG watercolour markers. I added a sentiment from the Essentials by Ellen Make It Beautiful stamp set.

I am excited to see where you go with this design, see you over at Muse!

I am also submitting this to the Essentials by Ellen October Mix It Up Challenge. This month it is mixing Altenew with Ellen Hutson.

Tag You`re It Challenge #74

Happy Friday!

There is still time to play along over at Tag You're It!

I just love the cute bathing suit image that Bev used for her tag. So my translation was to create a tag with a little black dress! I used am image from the Hero Arts April Monthly Kit.  A few bright pink enamel dots and some pretty satin ribbon.

Ellen Hutson Pin-Sights September Challenge

IMG_3359

A very late entry to this month's Ellen Hutson Pin-Sights Challenge!
I have had a mondo migraine for the past few days and creating wasn't on my mind. Tonight after spending an hour in our new hot tub that arrived on Tuesday I had a bit of relief, fell asleep and woke up a while later and headed into my studio to create this card. My hubby and I bought a hot tub on our anniversary in August when we went to the nursery to buy some plants and they had a hot tub sale going on in the parking lot. Can you say squirrel!!

For my card I used the Ellen Hutson LLC Mermaid's Tail stamps and dies along with Otter Ware and Distress Oxides for my card. Tried to pull in colours from the inspiration.

Hello Fall - September 2017

It's time for the September edition of the 12 Kits of Occasions!

We had a cold, wet summer where I live and mid August it seemed that fall was in full gear, but this last week we have been having temperatures in the 90's! We didn't have one day that hot all summer. Then I woke up Thursday morning to a perfect fall day, sunny and seasonably cool! So perfect timing to create with the Hello Fall kit that was sent out to the team by designer Marybeth Lopez! It is always so fun to see what each member of the team picks to put into their kits. It give you a glimpse of their creativity and always such a surprise. I am always so excited to see what Marybeth has packed into her kit each year and this year she didn't disappoint! Just the right amounts of gorgeous, co-ordinating patterned papers, stamped images and embellishments. With Canadian Thanksgiving only a week away this gives me the chance to make some more cards for my family. I made four cards with the kit but lots of supplies leftover to make more. In fact two are almost ready to be adhered together...

Inspired By All the Little Things #66

Happy Weekend!

It is my turn to host this week's challenge at Inspired By All the Little Things. When I chose the inspiration for this week's challenge I was so taken with this beautiful Dahlia. My Dahlia's did wonderfully this year and my last bloom just died off just the other day, either that or an animal trampled over it!  I took a photo of this beauty last weekend...

I chose the Altenew Dahlia Blooms stamp set for my card. Masking and stamping both the large and small flowers and then Copic coloured. I cut the panel with a stitched rectangle and adhered it to a top folding grey card base with foam tape.

Head over to the Inspired By blog to see who I invited to be my guest this week. You will love her gorgeous card and see what the rest of the team has made for this week's challenge as well!

Tag You're It #73 - REMINDER

Happy Friday!

There is still time to play along with us over at Tag You're It for challenge #73!

Last week we came back from our summer break and I started the next term off with this tag using emboss/resist with Distress Oxide inks...

This week for the reminder I am CASEing my own design with this tag using the Anemone stamp set from Right at Home along with the Script Greeting dies.

tracey_TYI#73b

If you haven't already I hope you get a chance to play along with us!

After an abrupt stop to a cold and wet summer a few weeks ago, it has actually found us this week and we have had hot and sunny days. So with a great forecast for the second weekend in a row I can hardly wait.  Have a great weekend!

Essentials By Ellen September Mix It Up Challenge

IMG_3288

The September Essentials By Ellen Mix It Up Challenge is mixing with Honey Bee Stamps!

I started by sponging Distress Oxide inks in Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade on to a white Bristol Smooth panel. I flicked some water on the panel and used paper towel to absorb the excess. Then I stamped the sentiment from the Thanks and Giving set by Honey Bee Stamps. The final touch was to stamp two of the leaves from the Essentials By Ellen Rustic Botanicals.
