Muse #249

It's time for Muse Challenge #249!

This week I doubled up and created a card for my son's 23rd birthday and also for this week's inspiration at Muse! I am really having a hard time believing that my boy is a grown man, but of course he will always be my baby--lol. I had to use this fun image for my snowboarding boy. The background was created by smooshing some Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink selectively on Bristol Smooth cardstock to create a windy snow hill. I adhered the snowboarding penguin with an action wobble (video clip below) so the whole scene becomes a wild ride. The panel was completed with the sentiment white embossed on a black cardstock strip and then I added white fun foam to the back of it to add even dimension.

I can't wait to see how you interpret this week's challenge.
See you over at Muse!

Today is the final post at the Tag You'e It Challenge.
The challenge has been running bi-monthly since June of 2014.

On a personal note I would like to thank each and every one of the designers for their hard work and awesome tags that made my job of running the challenge so much easier!

 Happy New Year!

Today we shift away from cards for Christmas and right into cards for sweethearts! Tracey here today to share a fun way to maximize your use of your Stackable Craft Dies. We usually use our Stackable Dies to cut full panels and adhere then to our card base. For this tutorial I am using the die cut pieces and not the full panel cuts to make three unique cards. I used Distress Oxide inks to add colour to three 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white Bristol Smooth panels and with those pieces I was able to cut one with each of the three Amour Stackable dies. I prepared a video for you today on ,u YouTube channel showing you how I applied the ink first, flicked clean water on to each panel and absorbed the excess with paper towel. Then I cut the panels and used those pieces to create three cards.

Each die produced different sizes hearts. I separated the hearts into piles--small, medium and large. I use the same design for each card but chose different coloured hearts for each. I even had enough hearts left over that I could still create a few more cards. I put them into a small resealable bag so they are handy when I am ready to use them.

I used a sentiments from the Love and Miss You clear stamp set.

I added a tiny piece of foam tape behind the tiniest heart on all three cards.

I adhered the panels to a top folding card base using more foam tape. Here is a close up of the hearts.

With hearts you can make cards for so many occasions all year long.

I hope that I inspired you to make something from the heart today. Come back next Tuesday for more creative inspiration.

Season's Givings Blog Hop Year 6

Happy New Year and welcome to the Season's Givings Blog Hop!

This is the 6th year that designer Latisha Yoast has been hosting this blog hop and it is a way to let our followers know just how much we appreciate them. Each and every stop along the hop is hosting a giveaway and as you can see from the list below there are a lot of stops and a lot of GIVEAWAYS!

I would like to thank each and every one of you who takes the time to read, comment on or just visit my blog to browse. Your comments and encouragement are truly appreciated and I hope that you find a bit of what you are looking for when you stop by. The main reason that I blog is because I love to share with and inspire others! I haven't been posting as much as I usually do in the past few months because I broke my collar bone in October and after 10 weeks I am just starting to get back into crafting again. So I am hoping that 2018 has me back doing what I love most!

First up I thought I would share some of my favourite projects that I created in 2017. Each picture has a link to the original blog post.

Fashionista - December 2017

Here we are on the last day of 2017!
It's amazing how fast this year has gone.

I have the pleasure of being the last hostess of the year for the 12 Kits of Occasions. From the moment I laid my eyes on the new Fashionista collection from Echo Park I fell in love with the papers, the colours, the whimsy and all the possibilities. I sent each of the girls on the team a kit full of patterned papers, girlie stamped images and die cuts. Included in the line up are images and die cuts from Hero Arts, Ellen Hutson and My Favorite Things. A full list of the supplies found in the kits can be found on the 12 Kits of Occasions blog. Supplies I added today that are not on the supplies list--MFT Stamps Blueprints #27, Essentials by Ellen Mirror, Mirror die

This Tuesday will be 11 weeks since I broke my collarbone. Everyday I am getting stronger and stronger but when I use my arm too much it definitely lets me know. The bone is pretty much healed but the soft tissue damage may take up to 3 - 4 months to repair, so I am continuing with my physio and hope that 2018 is a good year for healing.  So no on to what you are here for today. I made six cards this month and it felt so good to finally be able to get back to crafting again.

For my first card I used Freshly Made Sketches Sketch #318 for my design.

My next card uses CAS(e) the Sketch #252, very literally.
